So all that's left is a Pacific crossing and an around the world flight.

That's so cool.

Hi Again Folks,

I just received some intersting news, after landing the aircraft was de-fueled all 1.8 ounces

The plane was 10 lbs 15 3/4 oz at take-off.

It uses an OS 61 4S running on Coleman Fuel (yes the stuff you use for camping) it is an ignition system.

Wingspan is 73 inches. CBC & CTV (local NTV, channel 201 for you expressVu folks) will be running stories tonight. Some of the nation folks may carry the story. Check today's & tomorrow's National Post and Globe & Mail for articles too.

I will be writing an article for the MAC mag.

TAM Success

What a great day for Maynard Hill, and what a great day for model aviation!
It's really nice to hear something so positive in the news, especially since model aviation has been getting a lot of negative publicity lately (runaway planes hitting houses, helicopters chopping off legs etc )
Congrats to all involved

Landed 8/11/2003 13:05 at Ireland

1888 miles ~39 hours -- not bad for an OS 61 4S

The plane was landed by AMA President Dave Brown.
Congrats to the TAM team on a great accomplishment!!! I was out on the front porch having coffee this evening and a number of my neighbors (who know I'm in to R/C) all asked me if I'd heard the news... so I guess it's getting around to everyone, and even people not involved in R/C find it a great accomplishment and a fascinating story!!!

You're a lucky guy to have been involved with such an event Carl! Good on ya!
