I'm jealous!!!! But man, you gotta be twitching. Let me when to drop by to have a peak.

I wouldn't mind seeing the equipment before installation.

ROTFL!! Yep - lots of tremors around the Burlington area!!!

Some pretty sweet parts

Unfortunately, I won't get a whole lot accomplished in the next week before Nall - I've got a few projects to finish off for others and there's a guy I know that took out his landing gear on his Carden PRO that needs repair, LOL

But some violent taawwwiiitcchhing going on

Very nice!!

Wow ABS brakes I gotta look into that option. Let us know how they work when you have a moment...there must be mini speed sensors? Is the nose gear the comparator or is it just left right lockup? No more flat spots anyways.

Doug... They work on magnetic field... The faster the wheel spins the more magnetic field is created and the more it clamps down. As the wheel slows down, the clamping force decreases. So in effect, they become ABS brakes and can never lock up! And all on a single wire to supply power to the electro-magnets!!

Thanks for the info on the brakes. They are a wee bit of excellent engineering.

This will one of the nicest Elans ever.

Re: Boomerang Elan / Cheetah Build Thread by a Jet Noobie!!!

I was able to spend a few hours on the Boomerang set-up over the past couple of days!!

First step was to get the ailerons hinged and SBUS9075 servos installed with Ti linkages and ball joints. I'm also using Secraft metal servo arms. I also did not use the stock control horn and installed some nice metal ones I had laying around. Geometry worked out perfect - I've got full servo movement with +/-25mm of throw (max recommended is +20/-15mm)

425oz-in is overkill, but I love the smoothness and preciseness of these servos.

Re: Boomerang Elan / Cheetah Build Thread by a Jet Noobie!!!

Same for the flaps - the servos are BLS3071HV's... 160oz-in at 7.4V.

I went with the same linkage set-up. The horns on the flaps are stock and are nice thick G10 material.
