In the past I have used the JR 500A gyro on my nose gear. It is no longer made. What do you JR guys use now?

Thanks

Re: What type of gyro to use?

I have just installed a Futaba GY240 in my T-33 nose gear. Would seem to be OK as you can switch off the heading hold but it does have a remote gain feature. About the same price as the JR 500A. Haven't tried flying it yet. If the weather holds, maybe this weekend.

Re: What type of gyro to use?

Hey Peter

Try a 500T. It's not just ment for helicopters. In the directions it mentions a bit about using it in airplanes. Just be sure to have Tail Lock mode off!!! The only problem there may be is the 500T is 4.8V input voltage only. Let me know if you have any questions about this gyro. I have one in my heli.

Re: What type of gyro to use?

Sure thing Wayne. Will keep you posted but the weather does not look very co-operative. To cold for this young fellow.
