Complete newbie question..

Does anyone have good tips on how to deal with this scenario? I have two places on the carbon Align frame where screws with not tighten.

Try a coarse thread screw. Is it going into plastic or metal? Use locktite if metal and let it dry.

If the hole is all the way through you can get a longer bolt and put a nut on the end.

A little more detail is in order, me thinks. Which model of heli are you inquiring about, and what is the screw for?? Cant think of anywhere on an Align heli where anything actually screws into carbon fibre??

Hmm. If the screws are going into the plastic or aluminum frame 'nuts' (depending on which heli) this may work.. If the threads are actually stripped, the OP may get away with longer screws/bolts. CA or Locktite where there are no threads present, won't be very effective, IMHO.

I guess I could have been more specific. Trex 450.

The main problem area is where the boom brace attaches to the frame.. so I guess the problem is actually that plastic frame block.

Re: How to repair stripped screwhole in frame

Putting some CA on the screw that holds it typically will do the job, but those screws tend to get worked back and forth a bit.

Personally I'd pack the hole with epoxy, then when dry, drill it out with a bit one size too small (1mm bit) then screw it back in.

And just throwing it out there - but when putting screws into plastic there's no need to gorilla grip 'em in there. Just snug is good. Screws don't tend to come out of plastic bits as the plastic itself (depending on the type) will usually grip the screw itself.
