Chint 35

Bought an EME 35 this spring (bad move I know ). The engine produced what seemed to be pretty good power. However, the idle was horrendous as it constantly changed and quite often would quit. After lots of diagnosing I blamed it on the Chint copy of the Walbro carb!!!

Not worth losing a nice plane over.

My search for a suitable replacement engine hasn't been successful. As time went on, I found out that they replaced the Chint carb with a Walbro!! ding ding ding ding ding ding!!

Well today, I got me one of them in the mail. I can tell you, all idling problems have been resolved and can now resume flying the plane.

NEVER again!!!

Hello Jack what model # is the Walbro carb that went on there as a replacement. I have not run my EME 35 yet but hope to get some time on the plane this fall.
Thanks

Hey Dennis, I believe it was WT 379...hmmm maybe it was 378. Lorne at Pro-Rc can get you one.

I don't have the P.O.S. Chint carb on anymore, but I'll find it and see where mine were set.

Re: Chint 35

Brodie, both are set approx. 1 3/8. Don't take that for gospel because it would run so erratic at an idle. But should be close.

Re: Chint 35

Brodie, I plan on taking my Edge out of the cargo trailer soon. I can check the needles for you. As I know my "Chint" 35 has the chinese Walbro copy. So far mine seems to run happy. But after hearing of Jack's difficulties I have not flown mine either. Might have more to do with the loose motor. But let's go with the Jack story. Ha-ha.

On a serious note. My EME35 was one of the early ones delivered to Lorne. And has run strong, and reliable. Al be it, I'm a run-in kind of guy. Mine got lots of time on the bench before it learned to fly.

Now maintenance season has started. What a great season this one was.

Carefull, that might be the start for you.
If you have nothing to maintain, then
1 ) You don't fly enough.
2 ) You don't have many airframes.
3 ) You have nothing left !
