Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
Dale, this would be a great topic for a separate "build" thread. I had honestly never thought about using studs but it makes perfect sense! I imagine that you couldn't use Nylock nuts though. What do you do to prevent the nut from working its way loose (especially on the DA's LOL)

Double nut.
As, one nut is no good for anyone! Gordon, I will do a little "Muffler Fix" how to once I get fresh parts. Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
Having played with the recent MVVS, I'll be going studs on all my motors from here on in. Over the winter I will be converting my GP and BME to studs also

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
Well I found the greatest thing in the world to clean old glow engines that were run hard and put away wet for 20 years. BBQ grill cleaner. Just pour in into a cup and put the parts in, take them out and a quick brush with a tooth brush and it will look like new. It was gummed up so bad it would hardly turn over at all. The inside gleams now. I am just waiting for some new bearings I ordered and a Perry carb and the old Speed 61 will live to fly again.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
I have an old Pico 60 and a ST 60 from the early 80's as well. I may rebuild them as well and save them for my collection. The Pico was only started once.
