Had one with a ST .51 and it got off the ground in 6 feet!
Never tried real 3D with it. Guy in our club flying one with a Saito .82 FS and it is unbelievable. I think your .61 will be lots of power but watch the wingloading as I am sure the overall weight will come way up.

Mine flies great with a .46FX so your .61 will give you great performance; really depends on how you want to fly it. You need a bit of weight up front as they tend to be tail heavy.
If the weather holds this weekend (unlike the last 3 weekends), bring a buddy box and you can give mine a try to give you an idea. Not bad for the $$ and you really don't need to spend $$ to rocket it up. It's a relatively simple assembly, just make sure the tail and wing match up parallel and make sure the elevator doesn't warp. You might also want to re-enforce the wing hold down (I plugged and re-tapped) as they use a metal blind nut to hold a plastic screw and it tends to wear down. The wing seems to be fragile, I had to repair mine when it was new as there was a "rattle" in the wing from some ribs. Easy enough to fix but definitely something to check for. As scaleguy pointed out, don't make it too heavy or you won't have as much fun with it. Depending on which engine you select, I can give you some ideas of how to move it to adjust weight vs adding any additional. Bob

I have flown my Twist with a ST .61 with no extra nose wight needed. I use an APC 13 X 4W prop which has OK ground clearance and is a perfect match for that motor.
I have not experienced any ill effects by using a larger motor than the .46 Make sure the motor is placed as far back on the mount as you can. You may need to remove some balsa where the exhaust exits so keep any covering removed from tail assembly and you can use it to fill in. Do not use the stock wing bolt It does not hold firmly. Ian

Check this out...
Check out my Twist with a Saito 72. Your 61 2 stroke should have more power than my Saito 72 so you'll be able to get a good idea of what it'll do. http://www.ccann.rchomepage.com/TwistEdited.wmv Please right click "Save Target As" Thanks.

Nice flying, or should I say hovering. That Saito sounds nice...trade yah
I have only attempted hoving that close to the ground with my SPA3D. You make it look easy. What is your Cg at?? I am at 4.75'' and I think it needs to be back further to hold a hover better. Ian
