Shrink Tube for Battery Packs

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I have purchased some Eneloop batteries to make my own battery packs but can't find the shrink tube material to hold the batteries (4 batteries to make a 4.8 volt square pack) together and protect the ends. I could use electrical tape but would prefer to find the shrink tube material if possible.

Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated.

Re: Shrink Tube for Battery Packs

hi Chris,

Shrink a suitably sized plastic pop bottle segment around the battery pack. You may need to use a hot air blower a bit stronger than a hair dryer; something along the lines of a blower used to shrink covering or remove wallpaper.

good luck,

Commercial Electrical Supply Wholesalers as in what Electrical contractors use.
Most have shrink tube in stock from 12" diameter down to 1/8" usually in 48" lengths. If not in stock usually next day, All My local wholesalers have counter sales to the public if You buy full rolls / length, of product. They just don't cut wire / conduit etc.to length.

I use "Tarp Repair Tape" from Princess Auto. It comes in four different colours.
