hey guys im running a b44 with dx3r and mamba max 7700 combo on trakpower 4800 2s saddle packs. i ran the car for 5 minutes testing it and it shut off, then turned back on. i drove it for another 2 minutes and it shut off again and wont even light up anymore. the esc is fine as it calibrates with my computer and all the leds work, the lipos are fine as they are perfectly balanced and in working order, i checked all the connections and they are fine! im starting to think its the sr3100 receiver that is the problem but if i use an external pack it starts right up.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

where were you using it? at fastcats?
what pinion and spur gear were you using?
thats one hell of a motor unless you're doing high-speed passes.
we typically run the 5700's for the 4wd's when we race.

a simple check for the car would be a rolling resistance check. simply back off the motor so the gear mesh is open. roll the car and see if theres any undue rolling resistance.

As for the electronics, am i reading correctly - if you use a receiver pack plugged into the receiver it powers the receiver, and if you plug in the mamba to the receiver it doesnt power the receiver?
that would indicate an output problem with the mamba on the voltage or ground lead.
first plug in everything, but leave the lead from the mamba to the receiver unplugged. measure the voltage across the brown and red wires with a multimeter. if theres no voltage present, disconnect everything.
unscrew the two 1.5 mill screws that hold the electronics to the case and inspect the leads in the area where they are soldered to the board. go ahead and check the leads for the switch as well if you still have it connected to the mamba (i remove my switch and bridge the board - i hate the switch). in fact you might as well do a continuity check on the switch while you have it out using a multimeter. just check for continuity through the switch while turning it on and off.
if theres no voltage coming out of the mamba to the receiver and the leads and connections are all good, then the output circuit if fried. last 100% confirmation test is to have someone plug their mamba into your receiver to make sure it powers up that way, then plug your mamba into their receiver and make sure it doesnt power up. then send it off for warranty. castle's warranty service is excellent.

Silly question probably Dom, but you are sure that the battery was charged and your voltage cut off wasn't set to high on the ESC right? Kinda sounded like a low voltage thing to me?

Sounds like the esc for sure i had the same problem 2 weeks ago,changed esc and it worked fine after that.Try that for sure it will fix the problem

did you sort this problem out? i see you have the controller only listed for sale, saying it 'works fine'. Same one or is that another one? The price is great!
