Re: Wondering where to begin, fpv tricopter or quad
Do I need a specific version of the fatshark goggles or will they all work with the 900mhz?

Both fixed wing and multi have their pros and cons for fpv use, depends what your looking to do. Last edited by Mark L @ FL; 12-28-2012 at 05:05 AM. |

Re: Wondering where to begin, fpv tricopter or quad
I use a Rangelink system, but Dragonlink v2 and EZUHF are other good 433mHz long range systems. These are all for control and take the place of 72mHz or 5.8gHz RC control systems. They all connect to an RC transmitter and tap into the ppm signal. When they are active, the RC tranmitter's output is disabled. They tap into the ppm signal (and power) via the trainer port, or you can hard wire them in (as mine is).
Ideally, you want your control system to be longer range than your video system so that you don't outfly your control. |

Re: Wondering where to begin, fpv tricopter or quad
ok ya lost me hahaha. I understand bits and pieces but I need to read much more and see some part specs to piece it all together. What I'm looking for is a unit that will do a 6 mile HD run. 3 there and 3 back.
Being so new to RC flight in general I'm not even sure I know what I need. Maybe even a plane to do multiple passes but I haven't flown a plane yet hahaha.

Re: Wondering where to begin, fpv tricopter or quad
Ok so it's been a while since my last post here, since then. I've gotten my zebro wing up and flying, had my first fpv crash lol. And have a full ground station with a couple more antennas on order as well as a new fpv cam.
So after getting this all up and going and waiting for new parts before I fly again, Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tricopter?, I've always had my eye on them but now I want one. I live beside a 250+ acre conservation area and think it would be nice to explore. Thanks in advance Sincerely addicted to fpv |
