Question top 1/4 inch of piston is brown

just swapping some engines around. the top quarter inch or so on my TT 46 pro(over 1000 flights and counting) and my west 50(100 flights or so) have a brown stain on the top portion of the piston. is this normal? i am using omega 10%. cheers, john

Yup, its normal. You can clean it off if you want. But if the motor is running good, I'd wait for another 1000 flights before doing that

Omega is a castor blend. That is varnish from the burned castor and is normal.
