Canada Day

What a gorgeous Canada Day!

I spent the day at the National Aviation Museum. I had one of my jets inside on static display, and spent the rest of the day helping out the guys from our club doing a flying demonstration and generally hanging around taking in the various activities.

Around 2:00 pm, after they had finished their performance over Parliament Hill, the Snowbirds paid a visit to the museum, doing five fly pasts in various formations. The pictures below are the best of the many I took. The first one was taken as they came straight at the museum from the north and continued on over and past the building. Then second was taken as they approached for a banking turn in front of the crowd.

The Sky Hawks also put on a display. They were using a pair of CH146 Griffon helicopters.

Here they are arriving, and then taking off to do the display.

Sounds like a good time.

I spent Canada day doing flying demos and chatting with the public at the Pickering Lakefront.... a whiplash factor of 10.

Spent the evening with the family checking out the bands and fireworks at the same place (Kinsmen park).

Jim,

I spent Canada Day working in an underground garage in Calgary.
Wiplash factor of -10.

However two weeks ago I was working in a garage in North West LA that was attached to a couple of office towers, a hilton and a health club! Wiplash factor of around 110 but being LA it was more of a silicon factor!

Glad the rest of you guys were doing aviation related things, but not me.

Rained here all day, but I did help Dan Nadeau get a 46 size pattern plane ready (I donated it to him due to his Dazzler being destroyed in a mid air Monday night at our club).

So we werent flying but still working on planes!

Spent all evening at the field flying and training my 80 yr. young student (you're never too old!) ...Sunny warm evening with a warm breeze..... when I got home I was in the proverbial "dog house"...Seems that "the wife wanted me to take her to see the "local fireworks" display
