I have limited time and space in my smallish downtown condo and already have a large plane on the building board. So I am looking for a proven experienced builder for a .40 sized Juno Tsunami (builder kit) if your a good builder in the GTA please PM me directly with your contact details.

Chris, what sort of plane are you looking at having built? Also, just how big a place do you have and how much entertaining do you plan on doing in the next while?

Not being facetious or sarcastic but I've had friends who build the early "Giant Scale" kits in one-bedroom apartments, and a few who had two-bedroomers who converted the second bedroom into a workshop.

Seriously, why not stand up at the next meeting of the RCFCT and ask around how would be recommended as a builder in and out of the club? Yes, it's a buyer-beware situation but one that will work if you keep on top of things.

Same applies to the local hobby shop.

I did do building some years ago but don't because of two factors:
1) Time and space on my part
2) Person that I was building for got antsy and took the plane before I'd finished with it and crashed it, then blamed my construction techniques for his sloppy flying. He got karma in return when his wife checked on a recent purchase at the LHS an dfound that his "great bargain" had really been full-retail, then checked his purchsases for the last month -- never cross a Canadian-Italian Princess!

That's an interesting claim, Byrocat.

It's not unusual for people to blame their errors on others.

True, especially when they don't have the maturity to be able to self-criticize and the humility to accept it. The plane wasn't ready to be flown and I told him that, he insisted on taking it back and then taking it out to the field.

HOWEVER.... how about getting back to Chris's orginal posting? Have you any suggestions of a good reputable builder with reasonable rates and history that can be seen?
