Are you kidding me?

I bought a receiver from a guy in San Jose, CA. He shipped it up by US post.

Check out the size of the package, and the price of shipping!!!

So why does it cost to mail the same size package within Canada $11.77 with CP??

I don't mean to beat this issue to death, but come on!! Were being railroaded here!!

Re: Are you kdding me?

Yup, cost me $10.76 to send a CD motor to a fellow in TO, from WPG.

Legalized theft its called.

Standard rule of thumb for Canada post is that if it will not fit thru the mail letter slot measure stick they have, it has to go by parcel post, and its a minimum $10.76 charge.

BTW, the letter slot is only about 1/2" thick.

Re: Are you kdding me?

I lived right on the 49th parallel for years and had a USPO box in a US border town. I got to know the postmaster over the years and learned that the USPO rates are heavily subsidized by the US government. USPO looses money, at least that's the way it was explained to me.
Maybe someone in the government world can chime in here on Canada Post?

KR
BTW It cost me $75 USD / year to have that box. Normal fees for the US. Don't pay a cent here.

I don't for a second believe that Canada Post is in any danger of turning a profit either - even with the rates they charge.
