I heard awhile back that the Gator RC Giles G202 is allowed for IMAC contest use. Is this true?
Thank You.

You can use any type of plane even a trainer or non scale for BASIC in IMAC Competition.

even though most folks are using 1/4 scale and bigger for sportsman and up, I think your Giles is legal for all classes.

Why not just use a Typhoon 2+2 ? Same plane, lighter and much better looking

Isnt using a pattern plane in IMAC kinda cheating

Well Chad, Although a good plane does make a difference, I would kinda think the pilot has something to do with it too.... I'm sure your pattern planes don't fly themselves now do they? LOL. Just having some fun with ya my friend!

I love IMAC! Everyone is laid back and friendly and so helpful to each other. Its a great feeling just being out there with friends having a good time. Next year is going to be huge here in Ontario at least. By the sounds of it, there will be at least a couple of dozen in Basic next year!
The more, the merrier!

Trev, If your going to fly that Gator Giles other then basic

Thank you everyone for your response. I would not be competing in basic. Either sportsman or advanced. Not sure where I belong as I have been flying some pattern. I would love to fly both pattern and IMAC but can not afford to do both. Now if the Giles G202 from Gator RC is legal I could do both.
With the rules saying "exact scale is not required or intended" and "wingspan and variations not exceed 10%. fuselage width and height may be reduced up to 20%" Does the Gator G202 fit into these rules I do not know. Just because I have read that it does. Does not mean its true. I would hate to build one and not be able to fly it in IMAC.
