colored smoke

I made some of my home brew smoke oil that seemed to work pretty good. So I decided to look into color smoke. I phoned a company in the U.S and they are making me aviation die for my smoke system. They make these dies for the planes in the air shows. I''l keep you posted on the results.

Re: colored smoke

Just please don't fly with the smoke on if the wind is blowing towards any of my stuff :P The colored dye stains everything. There have been quite a few discussions about colored smoke on RCU, in the end, everyone stays away from it because of the mess it makes.
By the way, I have a functional drop tank for that bobcat sitting at my shop, let me know when you're over here next and you can pick it up.

Thanks LGM for the heads up on that coloured dye staining.

Re: colored smoke

lol, have you ever gotten food coloring on your hands haha, I think that the colored dye's change the color of the smoke due to a chemical reaction when it burns, just having red colored smoke oil won't give you red smoke, but I'm not a chemist and I really don't know anything about smoke systems, I just know that the stain's from the colored smoke are pretty significant. In a full scale airshow the altitude and distance out I think makes it less likely of any staining, but we fly our models much closer in than the full scale stuff happens

Re: colored smoke

Dude, the jet fuel and turbine oil are for the jet, not for drinking!
