hey, i was wondering what size of gasser will fit nicely on a 1/4 scale balsa usa citabria pro? the wingspan is 80", the weight is 11 1/4 lbs, the wing area is 1120sq inches and the engine range is 60-90 2stroke.

I would go for the Zenoah G 20EI lots of good reviews and there is on on here for a fair price.

You could go with a Zenoah G26. Economically priced and good power for it's size in the event you want to use the engine on a different airframe later. I know a lot of guys use this engine on 1/4 scale cubs, taylorcrafts, etc.

I flew mine on an OS 70, and OS 91, and a Saito 120. The 91 four stroke worked best..If I still had it, I would bolt the 20 EI on it and give it a try....It is a much much smaller plane than a quarter scale cub... Another option would be the BME 90 gasser that Maxxair is selling....

i was thinking about a conversion engine to keep my cost down, so about a 25cc range swinging a 16-8 prop would probably would be ok. is the citabria pro fairly aerobatic ?(not looking into 3D kinda stuff) i already like the look of this plane, but dont want something that will do aerobatics like my trainer.

Most conversions are heavy and some tend to vibrate a lot. If that is the route you have to go, then one you might look at is Poulan ...I've seen a couple of the small ones run very well (I think one was 18 cc ....)

i was intending on running a gas glow mix. no extra weight of an ignition system, lower idle, no excess vibration/rf interference and of course...MORE POWER!
