You should post his name the guy is a fraud. Its obvious he is just hoping the buyer won't say anything like you did and take the crap he is selling.

I didn't know "rust" was considered like new.

Re: watch who you buy engine off

At least you got your money back. That thing looked so bad I wouldn't even want to keep it if he said here is your cash back don't return it. haha.

I bought a pair of skis a few years back off ebay "like new used once", scratched to heck, got my money back as well. Guess some people just have lower standards. LOL

Angry Re: watch who you buy engine off

What * me off is that he said he did not see the damage on the engine when he was boxing it up to ship it. And where is that engine he had pictures of.

Re: watch who you buy engine off

Grant..Your just to nice of a guy. He clearly tried to RIPP YOU OFF. The fact that he said he didnt notice its condition when packing it??? He simply got caught this time. Rather than argue he returned your money. Did he pay for the return shipping too? By now its been shipped to the next guy. Perhaps someone not as experienced at RC and that guy is now getting ripped off.

You really should post his name. Or if you dont want to.. at least send him a PM and tell him to explain himself on this thread. That would really give him a chance to clear his name.

Re: watch who you buy engine off

It's sad to hear this kind of story.

There was another case like this recently about a couple boats that were sold in similar condition. The thread got out of control and you couldn't really tell what the real story was, except that there was some major misrepresentation/misunderstanding. Not that it applies in your situation, but with these other two? I have a feeling I can tell which is the slimy snake and it creates just enough doubt that I'll never ever buy anything from him; the other, I'll approach with caution.

It's too bad, because we all have some faith in each others' words here and that's all we have. It's become a funny system where you pay first, get item second. Normally, you see item first then pay if you're happy.

I think your discretion is commendable. You are right, he made good on a bad deal. Perhaps he will learn to be a gentleman of your caliber from this. Maybe if he doesn't stop trying to rip people off (and you notice), then you could blow the whistle on him.

That's what I've done with a member on here that has a reputation for sour deals.
