Re: Old Futaba AM radio

If it's got a Gold Sticker on the TX and is on a recognized frequency, you can fly with it certainly especially on an uncrowded field - I don't think that even applies to it if on 27MHz. As far as I know the Gold Sticker on the Tx indicates it is narrow-band but of course the Rx is not too selective. What model is it and which frequency?
Grin - offer it to johnboy1234 - I don't know how far back he is collecting!

Oh! The Gold Sticker program, I seem to remember, came in around 1990 or so. It was applied to Txs that were narrow-banded or met the criteria.

Re: Old Futaba AM radio

If I remember it would still use a cylindrical 8-cell battery of that era and even a built-in charger! Probably impossible to get nowadays. Does it have the original box in which to ship it? If so, I may be interested in paying you a nominal (ahem!!) amount for it. They were very nice radios - a friend bought one when they first came out and I was envious! Anything else with it?
Please PM me if you like. Thanks.
PS - sheer nostalgia at work here!!

Re: Old Futaba AM radio

The battery pack is inside and i guess one needs to open the whole casing to access it. I do not have the box unfortunately. It came with its charger and wires, plus a receiver and servos. Everything with Ftype connectors.
