.60-.90 Sukhoi Kit... Is there one???

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I am looking for a winter project, and I want to biuld a Sukhoi, but I want a .60 sized, or maybe even a .90. I know Carl Goldberg makes a .90 size Sukhoi SU-26MX, but this model has an ABS cowl, and I was hoping for a fiber glass... Do any of you know a kit for me???

Thanks!

Bobby,

You can get an aftermarket F/G cowl from Aeroglass here in Canada.

Use the ABS cowl to get the openings right for needle valve, glowplug and muffler then you only have to do it ince on the F/G.

Go for it!

What engine are you planing on using?

A good 120 FS or 2S would work nicely perhaps even an Saito 150FS for unlimited verticle.

If you want to do some building and a bit of repair I have the CGM Sukhoi with a FG cowel and belly pan that I would let go very reasonably.

Send me a PM or email at charles.maker@sympatico.ca or phone 905 662-8196

Scratch?

If you are interested in scratch building you can download a full set of decent plans for a sukhoi here:
http://www.geocities.com/rcsu26mx/su_intro.html

If you are not into scratch building the same sukhoi in the link above can be bought as a laser cut kit here:
http://akmodels.bizland.com/su26mx.htm

For a smaller Sukhoi (46 size) click here from the same site that does the laser cutting:

You can get the glass cowl and belly pan from Fibreglass specialties. Cost for both is $77 US.

Bobby,

your fg belly pan and cowl will run about $40. Your LHS can order direct on your behalf and might save you some hassle. Pinnacle Hobby in Markham ordered mine for me from Aeroglass and the quality was excellent, took about 1-2 weeks.

I just finished the tail section on mine. The wing is next (gotta clear up a few things and finish some other projects to make room first though)

Good luck with your build

Bob

Or you can save some money and buy this one for $650. Glass cowl and belly pan, OS 1.60, Bisson pitts style muffler. Only 12 flights on everything. Gone to gas and this one is just sitting around.
