I am going to be in richmond hill, ontario for a week towards the end of july. Just wondering if anyone knows of any hobby shops or clubs near that area.

Re: Hobby shops and clubs near richmond hill

A couple of km from richmond hill, depending on where you are in RH is a store called hobby home. It's very close to where I live, and I used to go there often.

The guy who works there is alright, but doesn't treat new customers or those who can't afford expensive things very well. I fall in both categories so I do most of my shopping online.

Have a nice time here!

Re: Hobby shops and clubs near richmond hill

For Clubs there are

Aurora Model Aircraft Club
Toronto Flying Club
Humber Valley Flying Club

All Are a short distance surrounding Richmond Hill

Shops..... There is

Pinnacle Hobbies to the east
A&J Hobbies to the south
Both are a short hop from Richmond Hill
Then there is Hobby Hobby a little further south west

That covers the airplane stuff.

If you are into Heli's ........

Then there is Advance Hobbies just to the east
and the Toronto Heli Club also just east of Richmond Hill

Pinnacle Hobbies gets my first choice.

http://www.pinnaclehobby.ca/

Good bunch of guys that are very helpful

If you are a heli dude, then it might be good to stop by Advance RC & Hobbies. They have all kinds of heli inventory:

http://www.advance-rc.com/hmain.html

These are the ones I know of in the immediate vicinity of Richmond Hill.

There are others, like AJ's, Hobby Hobby and Radio Controlled sports and Hobbies, but they are on the west end, and a fair drive from Richmond Hill.

Here is a trick for you.

The owners name is Ed. The next time you walk in. Say " Hi Ed, how are you today? "
I always found that changed his demeanor a bit

Haha don't worry I'm very polite. But thanks for the tip, I never used his name only a "hello how are ya".

I guess you noticed what I noticed too then, so at least I know he's not only a little mean to me

I just don't feel uncomfortable asking him questions because he makes me feel like I'm wasting his time. Oh well, I guess everyone has their own personality

I like shopping online now, but Pinnacle looks great. I'll give them a shot, thanks!
