Elec Shocks / Springs

I am looking for some options in making the suspension stiffer on the following trucks:

Traxxas Grave Digger VXL 1/10 (it has Traxxas Big Bores installed)
E Revo Brushless (Stock shocks with RPM A Arms and True Trac Kit on the rear)

I already have thicker shock oil.

I do alot of big air jumps. Any Suggestions?

Re: Shocks / Springs

Stiffer springs for your shocks. It will give you a bouncy ride though.

Re: Shocks / Springs

I also wanted to stiffen the suspension on my 1/10 E-Revo, so I did some searching on the Traxxas forums and found this combination, or variation of it used for hard bashing.

I used the #2 rocker (stock), changed to 80w shock oil and installed the Traxxas VDK, #1 vdk front, #2 vdk rear. I changed the stock springs to silver in the front and blue in the rear. Push rod was middle hole front, inner hole rear with only a slight amount of preload on the springs. I tried various combinations with the VDK and found the one I mention to my liking.

Using the #2 rocker the car no longer bottoms off of small to medium jumps, I do'nt do large air jumps so could'nt tell you how it is for them. This is a much better set up for harder bashing than the stock set up, but it is a fairly stiff ride. I find when driving fast over rough terrain the car skips across the ground more than fully absorbing the bumps.

I recently installed the long travel rockers and left the shocks the same but have not a chance to really give it a try. I did have to add some preload to the springs to help with suspension sag. I am hoping this combination will give me a little more plush ride. I will be able to test it better once I get the Revo out to my bash site.

This should give you a starting point.
