The "Blue Foamies" and our indoor flying both continue in Sudbury. We also flew last year but I have to admit, it was no way near as entertaining as as when Gas was with us.

We are currently flying on Sunday afternoons in Hanmer Secondary and the event is now sponsored by the Sudbury Model Aircraft Club (SMAC), and yesterday was our first gym day. I forgot how bad I had gotten. The one plane Hugh and I shared (mine was not ready), was pretty much a write off within a few hours. From basketball hoop strikes to incoming attacks (wrong rudder) and the overall effects of gravity, we had a blast. We were both working primarily on inverted flight and will until we get comfortable with it and then move on to some new challenge.

Enjoy the winter flying everyone. It definitely is "cheap entertainment" and a good way to keep your flying skills sharp.

Re: Blue Foamie

Well, we had another fun day in the gym with the blue foamies. There must have been a thousand people there as spectators and they were lined up down the block to come in

I bet the media will say there were no spectators but apparently that's the way things are these days.

Anyway, the blue foamies are flying great and we are all getting more adventurous all the time.

What a great, inexpensive way to spend an afternoon with friends.

Re: Blue Foamie

I am wondering if anyone could provide me with a copy of the instructions for the Foam Star Arrow and Axis? I build the Axis and it flew great much like the designer was a great man and i miss our PM conversations.

I still have to Arrow to build and cannot really recall the C of G location and the Axis i have i never marked and my Velcro for the battery fell off so i am not even certian where to balance the Axis either

Thank You

Chuck

Hi Chuck, if you send me your email address to hsh@fibreop.ca I will send you a PDF copy of the manual as I purchased Gastons equipment and continue to make his Arrow.

Hey Hugh,

Great news! I didn't know anyone carried on the flame/torch/biz stuff. Do you have a website I can bookmark?

Cheers,
J

Re: Blue Foamie

I just started flying the blue foamies again this season. I have one Yak still flying and 4 NIB kits I bought off of Gaston the year before he passed away.

Hugh, I’d also be interested if you are selling kits. Just post here or PM me!

Hi Jason, no I have not set up a website. I am currently looking for a location to purchase CF rods. Where I was purchasing them no longer has the landing gear size and the 1mm size has almost tripled in price since the last batch I bought.
