After my FAILED-BRAIN-FART attempt of inverted hover a few months ago. I told myself to just relax and take things slowly. My last few outings however is different, I am kinda getting braver with my 450. Doing inverted coming from a tail-in flip and staying there for a few seconds and go bak to upright hover. I guess today is the longest one! I am guessing around more than 10 seconds. But the difference is, I was able to change my hovering height and actually played with my pitch! You get all giddy inside when you see the heli getting closer to the ground . Then instead of just doing a flip to recover, I make a little bit of rainbow maneuver. To think I did it with a good amount of gusty wind, not to mention it is -1 today. My hands are so cold after that.

I'm loving this heli hobby. I never knew you could grow another set of balls just by doing a new set of trick, LOL.

Sorry. I just have to share. I don't have any flying buddy to tell my new milestone today.

Fly safe.

Re: I am getting there . . .

Joel,

That's excellent. This is the hobby where you do better and better the less you think about it. If you can keep your brain from interfering with your flying and just let your fingers do the work, things work out great.

I have to zone out when flying otherwise my gray matter tries to analyze everything and just screws it up. I guess I can't process the necessary inputs fast enough consciously or something...

p.s.

You're not getting there. You're there. There is no end of the road. Enjoy it for what it is. You are doing awesome!

Mark

Re: I am getting there . . .

Thank you so much for the kind words guys!

@ MarkToo. You are definitely right. On first attempt, I was TRYING/THINKING to do the maneuver. That made me crash. Lately, flying is becoming natural. I am just surprised I am doing it.

@ Pangea, I would love to post some pics along with all the soiled underwear I have for those oh-so-near crashes. But I might get banned .

Fly safe.

That is great that you share with us. While you dont have a flying buddy at the present, we are your forum friends and it is encouraging to hear tales of success from those that are getting into the hobby. It reminds us of what we went through and how excited we were when we did our first loop/roll/inverted flying. I never get tired of hearing it! Another guy joins the club! that is great news! Congrats!!!

Re: I am getting there . . .

Thank you for the reply Max. Yup. I love posting my success here in our own local forum. Lots of good people who can relate. Maybe, next time...it will be a long inverted hover with some forward flight.
