GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
I started this one a few weeks ago,after debating between a few other options.I was going to do a Nosen 310 or a twin otter but finally wanted to do this one.Glenn Torrances kits are noted for their exact scale and total commitment to scale WW1 type warbirds.
There are 1781 parts in this kit.I hope I can do this kit some justice,Its going to take some time.Glenn gives you the option of spruce sticks or dowels,I opted to go with the dowels mainly because I have never gone that route.The kit does'nt come with everything,wheels,gun kit, for example but it is very complete otherwise.I'm also still waiting for the forward aluminum side panels according to type (OAW) and the Mercedes engine kit from Glenn.I plan on doing Lothar von Richtohfen,younger bro of the Red Barons D.VII.Here we go..

Power is going to be a Zenoah-62 with a reduction drive from Mick Reeves Models.I'm not sure if its going to fit but we'll give it a try ,Glenn told me the one from Vogelseng wont fit but I'm going to try this one anyways,since I have it already.Apparently it'll turn a 28x14 at 4400rpm on a 30lb Camel and pull it up vertically according to Mick.Its a 1.75:1 ratio.weighs 2 1/4 lbs.Started with the rudder and elevator construction..

 So... you giving the neighbourhood kids rides in that? 1/3 scale.. eh... dat's big!  It's going to look uber cool when it's all done, wish I had the space (or a vehicle to transport) to be able to work on something like that...
