Paragon or Thunderbolt RC sell electronic ignitions at very reasonable prices. I think Cermark has changed hands recently, I have delt with them before & they were very good to deal with. I am not sure what happened with them , but there website is not the same as it used to be. That should be a good working engine once the ignition problem is fixed, & maby someone here on RCC has an ignition system for sale at a cheap price.
Good luck.

Re: MLD35 = Garbage

I like to tinker on engines, but before even offerring to try would hope that they will get back to you regarding this problem.

Before you chuck it someone like myself may take on the challenge.

As for plugs I too have run into this, although on a 13HP Chinese Honda clone from Princess Auto I bought to repower my 37 year old rider. Within weeks of installation I had problems, first being a too high oil sensor that drops the motor if even slightly low. Second was interesting in that I came home from work late one night and smelled gas. The fuel line had literally disolved!

The plug supplied with the motor was another bug that would fire fine outside the case, but not when under compression. The resistor cap was hopefully the last issue I have with that, but firing it up this season is coming soon and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: MLD35 = Garbage

Melody ignitions are famous for not working. It is usually best to change them out for a Rcexl.

That's why I said you could sell it "as is"....as in it doesn't work and it will need some parts...more than likely ignition parts. That way the seller knows exactly what they are getting.
