I am not much of a Dodge fan. However, they make a full size van (Sprinter I think) that has a diesel. It has head room (6' I think) and is over 8' in the cargo area. If I had an understanding wife and more cash then brains I would have one. A person could have any configuration of shelves they wanted, an interverter with plugs and solar power to keep 2 large CAT batteries topped up for field charging. However, I can see this happening any time soon. but a guy has to dream.

RE: Sprinter...great vehicle, but as mentioned it is priced out of this world. It is only practical for someone who puts on a ton of miles per year. North of $60k for a passenger van?

RE: diesels...There are two kinds of people in the world; those who 'get' diesels and those who don't. Trying to convince a non-getter is near impossible. New diesels are not smelly, unless you shove your nose up the pipe. My wife and I have two VWs. Diesel wagon and GTI. Guess which one I drive? yearly average of 900km per tank on 50l for the diesel. 600km on 50l for the GTI. That's 50% difference folks. Still, the diesel is a dog...woof, woof.

You mean a gasoline engine doesn't stink?? Lets face it THEY ALL STINK. Until they get the hydrogen cars that only put out H2O, they're gonna stink. For a guy with sensitive sinuses (like myself) gasoline or diesel exhaust is like ice picks jammed up yer nose! Besides, if you're smelling the exhaust when you're driving you're not going fast enough!

Hey Pete how about a Chrysler product that doesn't break down as much I see at least 3 or 4 a week on the shoulder of the expressway on my way to work. I only live a few kilometers from work no telling how many are along the rest of the expressway.roll:

Dennis

I asked for good feedback, since you work at FORD (Fix or Repair Daily) I also understand your sarcastic remark. For the rest of the world please keep the ideas flowing.

There are some very good suggestions here.

Thanks

Hey Pete was that your idea to put the spare tire in the middle of the van instead of at the rear? Watched a poor guy trying to get it out in the snow. Hey Pete how about sliding side windows so you don't have to take apart your plane just sitck a wing out each window.

Re: What RC features would you like in a new car?

if there is going to be new Chrysler product, i would look into using diesel engines and standard trannys.

definitely stay away from hybrid tech that's going nowhere. fast.

Re: What RC features would you like in a new car?

I drive a GM van ( looser cruiser) which isn't being built anymore, so if I had to buy a Fiat minivan ( I mean Chrysler) I would want some kind of raised platform over the folded seats. Sort of a 2 shelf system. Rear 12volt supply. ( GM has had for years), And a tail gate would be great.
GET-R-DONE Pete.
