Picked up one of these Arf's and was wondering if anyone else has started assembling.
I will say this is a sweet plane. The scale details are well done right up to the interior of the model.
The hardware I am using is as follows:
Engine: DLE 35RA
Servos: Wings and Flaps 4- Hitech MS645MG
Elevator and Rudder 2- JR DS8411
Throttle Hitech MS645MG
Radio Rx: Spektrum AR10000
Prop: 19X8 wood
All the linkages for the tail section are hidden, The servos mount under the rear seat. This is nice. Keeps the scale appearance.
In using the DLE I ran into a couple of issues, 1 with the fuel tank location and decided to put it on the floor of the cockpit for now, I am looking for another solution to this but have not figured it out yet. Ideas anyone?
there was no way to get to the mixture needles so I used a fuel dot and cut the back off of it and mounted it so a screwdriver can be inserted through it to access the needles. Here are some pics of the plane currently in an unfinished but almost complete state: Notice the spring loaded tail wheel this is nice.

Been looking for this since I first heard about it. Picked mine up at Great Hobbies as soon as it came in. Heard about it researched it and it was a must have. Not fond of Evolution engines so decided on the DLE.

What is the wood that is surrounding the motor is that for an elec setup. And can it be removed to save weight. I was gonnna drop a 60cc on the front for some fun.

That wood can be removed. I left it there until balance checks are done. If it comes out nose heavy I will remove it. I believe it is only there to support the motor box for an electric setup.

Re: 30CC Hanger 9 Beaver

Mine arrived today via greyhound from AMR. they have 4 more in stock. Have to study the manual and figure out the building sequence and what I will change. There is good threads on flying giants and rc groups with good ideas on the build.
I'm trying to figure out how I can put my DLE 55 rear exhaust in it. Can never have too much power.
John C, you have to change that prop, it just doesn't look right!!!!!!!
Have to decide now if I want to buy some digital servos for this plane or use the servos that I have .
One thing I want to change is to remove the registration from the fuse and put a canadian registration on it. I grew up in northern ontario watching beavers take off and land on the lake not far from my house.

You will have fun putting a 55 in it. It may fit with very little modification as the exhaust exits from the fuse. Also will be really nose heavy. With the DLE 35RA it balanced perfect with the batteries behind the COG. The fuel tank will be tricky if you plan on installing the interior. I had to put mine on the floor of the cockpit under the instrument panel. Make sure you trim the back of the motor box insert before you glue it in place. The needles for the carb were not accessible so I modified a large fuel dot to provide access. As for the prop it is what I had laying around. I will eventually put a carbon 3 blade on it but will run the break-in with this TURNIGY one. LOL . Note of caution the manual says to CA the seat bottoms and backs. DO NOT USE CA!!! it soaks into the fibers on the seat. I used GOOP from Canadian tire and this worked perfect. I also removed the registration #'s and replaced them with my MAAC #. I built a battery mount behind the front seats as I am using 2 Gens Ace 2600 Lipo's. The mount also conceals the wiring from the radio tray. Under the front seat is the CC BEC PRO and the AR10000 receiver. Telemetry module is behind the instrument panel. Picked up a set of lights that have yet to be installed. BRINKMAN LED flashlight parts make awesome landing lights and have a build in voltage reg. The lights will run on a 4cell Nmh switched with 2 RCXEL ignition kill switches. Be sure to post your progress and any other tips you may have.

Please do a assembly thread so I can see if my eme 60 will work lol. As a real canadian bush plane it cracks me up when they don't put canadian reg on it. The slipstream beaver was the same if I remember correctly

Re: 30CC Hanger 9 Beaver

These lights work great found them on rcu and they can run off a wide range of power. Just a servo lead that's it to a spare channel and you can put them on a swtich. 15$ for each wing. Have them in my bigfoot their bright
