That switch is a excellent Idea. Note taken on the HK switch. Removing it. Thanks Rotor.

Re: Servo Power Consumption

No problem. For what it's worth, it's not just the HK switch.. It's any switch. The ones I had fail were a heavy duty JR switch, and the other was a hitec. The vibes will get 'em all eventually. Just stick a safe switch system in there and use the HK along with it. Then when it fails, who cares?

Re: Servo Power Consumption

Hi - for what it is worth

I was curious a while back and measured it
From the 600 build thread (ps - real wold has shown I can get 12-15 flights on the pack before recharge - 2100ma 2s);

Trex 600E Pro Build - BEC current drain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Noglow raised a good issue that had been bugging me when selelcting a battery for the reciever pack.
By the way thanks fto RC Wings and Wheels - my LHS - for having one in stock!.
I put up my original math guess-timate in a post earlier today.
Here are the real numbers;
Sitting at Idle - Average 244 ma draw (0.24 amps)
Moving all surfaces - Peak - 2.49 amps
Stalling head by forcing down on swash (servos do not like that!) - 1.69 amps
Stalling Tail servo and leaving head alone at idle - 0.61 amps

My regular worst case senario of 3 amps may have been a bit high? - I expect that flight loads may empose a high current stall/movement scenario occassionally, however, I would be surprised if I get less than an hour of flying time on a fully charged receiver pack. If it does not meet the need I have enough space to add a signifcantly larger pack on that side - I moved the BEC to the other side of the nose.

Note - the BEC has LEDS that indicate the state of the battery from fully charged to empty.
