Not Sure

Well you now how you sometimes come across an item but unsure of its name so it makes it even harder to replace it. Well I have such an item . On the carburator needle set screw is a little tab that stays attached by spring pressure to the neddle set screw housing . It has a very short maybe 3/8" long tab (or arm) that applies slight pressure to the needle set screw stopping it from coming out of adjustment. Yup thats the piece I need for a 108 ASP. I have looked at my MDS, OS, GMS and Magnum and they all appear to use this little lets call it a "clip" .They all appear to be about the same size too but I would need a micrometer to verify that.
So that is what I need anyone have a name for it and know where I can locate one. Well I guess a needle set screw "o"ring probably wouldn't hurt either.. Other than that I guess if anyone has a carb that would work . Thanks in advance

I'm assuming you're talking about the hispeed needle?

If so, just slip a piece of fuel tubing (glow) over the barrel and the threaded part 50/50.

It'll hold the needle in place PLUS provide an airtight seal to that joint.

And I think it's called a ratchet spring.

I used this method on my ASP 108 and it works great. This will also help to seal the needle valve if the O ring is worn.

What you are looking for is a Ratchet spring clip. I am not sure who sells ASP but it might be possible that one off of another motor brand of similar size might work.

Yes sorry hi speed . Ratchet spring seems to be its name or sounds good to me I like the idea of fuel line but think I need some bigger than what i have. doesn't it come in about 3 sizes(dia.) for glowand what I have isn't even close to the dia. of the housing and would think it very very hard to get it over the needle and the housing. Of course I will try first.
Thanks Guys

If you are going to use the fuel line over your needle valve then cut a piece of tubing and place it over the ends of a small pair of forceps. Then spread them and it is a lot easier to get it on. The forceps have a round back surface so it won't cut the tubing and you can stretch it quite a ways.

To put fuel tubing over the needle valve or over your clevises, go buy a cheap pair of snapring pliers (internal and external) with interchangeable tips. Put the tubing over the tips and gently spread the tubing. The 90 degree ones are great for working inside the fuselage on clevises etc etc.

I have one from the carb on a Supertigre G61. The ratchet spring is held in place with a small nut screwed onto the needle valve holder (threaded part)

Little hard to see in this pic but you get the idea. I can grab my micrometer and get a diameter if necessary.

The carb had come loose from the engine for some reason when I pulled it out of the crater it was in.. funny that

Let me know and I can drop it in the mail for ya!

Well that is mighty nice of you Paul The unfortunate thing though is that is the other style they use. Mine is like a clip on a pencil or other cylindrical pocket tool that goes part way around the shaft . Thanks for the offer though Mike
