RC10GT racing

I have an RC10GT, but it by no means race-ready. I hope to race it at FTR this weekend, so what can I do to it set-up wise to make it race ready? So far mods are double deck chassis, some durability/weight mods (delrin shock tower in front, graphite <i think> in rear) and it's rear exhaust. I can make it side exhaust if it will help (lol i have a Fantom pipe that would be so cool to slap on there) but right now it has a MIP stinger exhaust which is really just a straight pipe. The engine is a TRX 2.5, and it has a T-maxx clutch bell with a stock GT spur, which makes it geared for mad speed, but luckily the engine is so powerful it can handle it and still have great torque. A problem with this however is that the T-maxx clutch shoes have to be cut to work, and then work like ---- (crappy acceleration) and the GT ones work fairly well but not as well as I'd like. I can't change this because it's a GT flywheel (imperial) with a T-maxx clutch bell (metric). It works well, but I think the engine has a lot more potential.

Anyway, thanks to anyone for any advice

Right now I'm just turning it sideways on the one for my S3, but I also have a Thunder Tiger box that will work, although I'm still debating if I should use it or sell it while it's NIB (BTW if anyone want's it PM me)

Hey, I have run a Trx 2.5 in one of my GT's for about two years now and it does make a fast setup. For the clutch I just used the stock Associated flywheel and clutch shoes. The clutch bell I use is an Associated 16 tooth but I reamed the bearing bore to 8 mm. This only takes about 5 minutes if you have access to an 8 mm reamer. To finish it off I made up a clutch nut out of an M5 nut that I re-tapped and a pair of 5x8 metric bearings.
I keep saying that I will get the MIP clutch kit to replace the crappy Rc10gt clutch shoes but I just never get around to it. I hope this little bit of info might help, at least it shows that there are alternatives to running a Tmaxx clutch.

I dunno, how big is ur flywheel? I have to use a really small one so it doesn't come out the bottom of the chassis. And how many teeth are on the clutch bell?

A GT with a descent 12 will wheelie like mad with the 4 shoe clutch or a MIP Clutch. It works well. If your looking for set-ups goto www.teamassociated.com.
