Ken,
I've never flown WWI combat (yet), but it looks like fun! The February 04 issue of MAN has a construction article on a .25 size Fokker D-VII designed with WWI combat in mind. Looks like a nice simple build and reasonably "scale-like". Check out this link: http://www.modelairplanenews.com/plan/fsp0204a.asp Good luck, and I'm sure you will find many other suitable designs.

I was at cobble hills this past sunday and witnessed the showcase of 4 ww1 type planes. 1 has been test flown the others are waiting better weather.
I am horrible with names, or I would tell you what I saw. I would talk to TED BANKS

Howdy gents!Does anyone know of any plans that might be available locally for WW 1 slow combat? Our club is considering getting into this and we are soucing for plans to see what me might come up with.It would seem that WW2 combat is a little too fast for some of the less experienced pilots that we have.By slowing it down a bit we hope to attract a higher participation level(hopefully)from our clubs membership.I like the Fokker D7 plan in M.A.N but by the time that sucker gets here,it's going to cost as much as the whole plane costs to build.Twelve dollars U.S shipping for one plan.....give me a break! There has got to be a cheaper alternative somewhere.Sure wish RCM would come out with a pair of WW1 slow combat birds. At least there plans are more REASONABLE in price(shipping charges at least)!! Any ideas guy's?
Cheers! Mark |

Right now there are some people working on the plans for various planes. They yet still have to be built and test flown but here are a few planes from the cobble hills group. You can contact ted banks the scale combat director for more info.
