Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Hi Everyone
I am not getting a response from my transmitter or KK board and I am not sure where to start in order to narrow down the problem.
Please see attached photo of my electrical/signal setup on the reciever and kk board.

I have done the following:
1) programmed each ESC/Bec individually with Hobbywing programming card.

Brake -off, Cut Off Type -soft, Cut Off Voltage- low, Start Mode-soft, Timing-middle

2) KK board:
AILE three wires to Reciever AILE, signal, power, neutral
ELEV one wire to ELEV, signal
THRO one wire to THRO, signal
RUDD- one wire to RUDD, signal

6 Motors - all signal/grnd wires go from ESC to Signal terminal on KK
- number 4 motor also has hot wire connected
______________________________
I have tried:
1) Connected an individual Motor and ESC to THRO on Reciever, was able to
run motor, so I would then assume that I have good signal to the Reciever.

2) When all is connected and turn the Transmitter on I get a solid light on the reciever, when I add THROTTLE the motors twitch.

3) ESC and Motors are not hot.

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Did you arm it by holding right rudder for 5 sec or so? Also try running all three wires of each control function to the receiver. These are what you need:

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

I also had a problem with a used quad which I put a KK board on. I had to calibrate the ESC's to the KK board so that the ESC's would properly initialise. Prior to that the motors would not turn even though I armed the KK board as mjohnson describes above.

Download the KK manual and follow the instructions for calibrating the ESC's

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Hi Mjohnson, I have put my spectrum transmitter throttle to the 5 oclock position, still no
help, Receiver lights up. I do have the wire hookup that you mentioned.

Thanks for your ideas.
Cheers

Try holding the rudder in the opposite lower corner. Perhaps your rudder channel is reversed.

Any lights coming on the KK board?

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Hi Max
I cannot find a manual or type of KK board to match the KK board that I have. I have emailed where I got the kit, FPVPilot but they have not responded back as yet.

It is my understanding that it was a HK board, but I have not found it on the HK site.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Helno
Tried the lower left still no luck.

The KK board only flashes blue when I plug in the power.
The reciever is lit, so I know power is getting to the board.

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Ok I have had a kk board had no real issues, but my KK2 board needed the first servo/esc wire to be live I notice its about three on yours . Just use the one you have live on # 1 Position and see if it works .Hope it helps. Oh another thought it could also be setting for throttle is to hi and it won't arm etc.

Re: Need help trouble shooting transmitter of kk board problem

Ya. To me it sounds like you need to calibrate the ESC's to the KK board.

Manual can be found here:
http://www.kkmulticopter.com/downloa...er%20v.5.5.pdf

Quote:
4. ESC throttle range:
- Turn yaw pot to zero.
- Turn on transmitter.
- Throttle stick to full.
- Turn on flight controller.
- Wait until the ESCs beep twice after the initial beeps. (Plush and SS ESC's)
- Throttle stick to off. ESCs beep.
- Turn off flight controller.
- Restore the yaw pot.

SUCCESS!

Both your idea about repositioning the live wire to the #1 position and HELNO's idea about starting up with the throttle in the lower left have proved to do the trick.

I would like to thank everyone for helping. What a great feeling to see and hear those motors hum.!

One thing I noticed is that while all the motors sputter to a start on low throttle, motor number 4 does not engage till I get to half throttle.
I will check the electrical flow and the ESC programming to see if it matches the others.
