I am finishing this plane for my dad and only thing i dont see on the plans or in the manual is how they mount the servos in the fuse for the trottle and rudder and elevator. Does a guy just go ahead on his own design or is there something i am missing about it. the is two balsa firewalls but they are like 5 inches or more apart. looks like on the plan that there is on the (c) balsa wall the servo is mounted on the one side but ther is nothing on the other.is the balsa gonna be hard enough for these servos (just standards) to be mounted on here? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx
Brad

I have one too. The servos are mounted on a homemade plywood tray and then mounted to rails across the width of fuselage. Add ply doublers where the servos mount to tray. Or you can put two rails across (hard wood}and screw servos to this. I hope this helps. My 2 bits worth . Im sure you will get other suggestions as well. Tom

If you are not into making your own servo trays, you can use one something like this one and screw it down to two hardwood beams, it is also rubber mounted.

Re: UNIONVILLE HOBBY DeHavilland Beaver - 6'.40-.46

Aren't the Unionvilles great? They allow you to be "creative" lol.

I built the Unionville Norseman and actually mounted the throttle servo inside the cowl of the engine compartment (with room to spare).

Because these aircraft are inherently tail heavy by design, I mounted rudder and elevator to hardwood rails as close to the nose as practical; just aft of the fuel tank.

Support of the long pushrods is crucial, especially if they're slender (like Gold n Rods). Using "clips" at every former to the aft end is good practice.
