this question has probably been asked before but i cant find it..

i try and run my norvell 74 and i get air bubbles in the fuel line.
any idea what could be the problem?? air leak in carb maybe? thats what i thought so and took it apart and put a new seal in.still have air bubbles in the line as it runs.
aswell it shuts down as soon as i take the glow starter off.
any help would be appreciated

Brad,

I think you should look more towared the exhaust for your problem.
The pressure tube on the tank should be at the top of the tank where
there is a void of air and not blowing into the fuel itself. Also, in a small plane you also have smaller spaces for tanks.You may have a vibration problem which is foaming the tank. You, may also have a small crack
or cut in your pick up fuel line, usually look at where it meets the copper tank tubing.

The bubbles will be coming from the tank, not the carb. It could be a hole in the fuel line, a flipped clunk, clunk came off, fuel lines crossed, an inline filter etc.

Get the fuel problem sorted and if it still quits when the ignitor is taken off, then it is probably either too rich or the plug is no good.

Norvel engines require considerably more break-in than other brands, but once they are broken in they produce a lot of power for their size and run very well.
