Anyone Flying 35% Aerowrks Extras?
Is any one flying the Aeroworks 35% Extra 260's or the new 300's? I'm deciding which one to buy.
And which engine are you guys using and why: 100cc-111cc twins or DA85 on cans/pipes? Thanks in advance for everyone's help. PS. I will have a EF 88" Yak and DL50 for sale shortly! |

Re: Anyone Flying 35% Aerowrks Extras?
you looking for IMAC, or 3D?
We have two that fly here. It looks like the 260 is much more 3D inclined over the 300 in my experience. They are both running DA100's. One on the MTW75 cans and the other on RE2s. I personally i've always preferred the 260 - I like the higher wing as generally it will produce less coupling. However, that being said - the new Aeroworks 300 is a Midwing I believe, so both planes have the wings very close to the thrust line. Hopefully someone that has flown both can chime in with a little more info. |

Re: Anyone Flying 35% Aerowrks Extras?
I am running the 35% Aeroworks 260 on a DL 100 with MTW 75 cans...This is a great flying airplane that IMHO does both IMAC and 3D very well. Like hk says no control coupling ...a very honest ride ....I like all the Extras and I understand your dilemma...
I just don't think you can go wrong with any 35% Aeroworks Extra! Last edited by hammonr; 09-27-2009 at 10:21 AM. |

Re: Anyone Flying 35% Aerowrks Extras?
Thanks gents.
I'm mostly a 3D pilot. I'm slightly favouring the 260 too! From what I can tell, the AW 300's wing is fairly high, practically as high as the 260's wing. Not a scale wing position, that's for sure. The 2 reasons I'm contemplating the Extra 300 is because a) the covering scheme is great and b) I fly the EF 58" Extra 300, and it has practically NO coupling at all, I'm amazed with it! Even my 88" Yak couples , more in one direction obviously! Man, it's a tough choice! Rob, What's your AUW with 100cc and cans? |
