Re: Big Blue Foamie

Got started, decided to use balsa spars, using white carpenters glue and some tissue paper to shim up the space.

That's not a bad idea, I very rarely take mine apart, last time I did, I forgot to plug in the ailerons...bad ending

What stock did you use? Actually balsa or was it hardwood? Dimensions?

I thought about this, but I ordered the carbon - my Charger is big, but not big enough .

I'm curious to know how much flex there is/will be. How's it looking so far with the spars you are using?

Thanks!
J

Re: Big Blue Foamie

Mine is all one pc wing... CF rod for spars, flexed on first flight the I added another spar and flex all gone... Getting it into the trunk of the car is a bit of a problem, but it goes, with a shove here and there.... ha ha...
Sept. 15th, FCF Fun Fly......... A big success and the awards program was great.. Good to see Mr R. Dodds there, and our SW Zone director, Frank Klenk..
Got pretty windy by noon so decided not to fly my sBach, dern it... but we had lots of Big birds there, along with the small ones...
Video is up on YouTube now..
Enjoyed the day, so did the 24 registered pilots...

Re: Big Blue Foamie

Hey Art... I got some video too at the Fun Fly I'll post on my youtube channel for you.

The bummer is that after you left the wind died down! I was there until about 3pm - oh, and stupid me, forgot sunscreen so now am redder than red.

At least I got to see your S-Bach up close. Standard servos didn't look too big at all - for those reading this and are wondering... like me .

Oh, and here's Art's Youtube channel for those that don't know it:

http://www.youtube.com/mrartlane

and mine

It was a fun day.
