Grease them axels

I have an aircraft that looks like it was designed about 1910, it has those Williams white Antique wheels on it. One started to squeak., When I pulled it off I found some of the white plastic embedded in the steel axel. I put a little silicone grease on it and the aircraft was much smoother on the ground. I tried this on my ME 109 with retracts and it does not nose over as easy, now If I could stop those set screw axels from going into "duck walk" I would be quite happy.

Re: Grease them axels

It certainly helps. I've used teflon dry lube and it works well.
