WooooooooHooooooooo! Time to get back into another Carden build!!

After a recent chat with Dennis and Caroline, I had them ship me up a 43% kit . Gameplan is to build on the learnings of a couple past Carden builds and I plan to lighten this airframe up with significant CF work (like my VW Edge), coring and a few new things I've been stewing over.

This plane will be built with 3D in mind yet IMAC friendly so I plan to do split ailerons with a function to turn off the inner ailerons for precision. They worked extremely well on my VW Edge

Power will be the new MVVS190 4-cylinder and I'll soon be testing it on cans, twin RE3's and quad ES pipes

To offset the weight of the quad, I will be lightening this plane up as much as possible and am targeting 38.5lbs

Should be a fun project!!

And few pictures of the powerplant....

There's a very nice weight savings by going to quad pipes but time will tell if the cost is worth the weight and performance

Testing will be done here....

Re: 126" Carden Extra260 / MVVS190 - BBT

I had such a HOOT with the 126" VW Edge but decided to try the Extra260 because of the nice lines. The 260 is also much lighter than the 300. We've had the chance to fly the Carden PRO and the 126" and we're preferring the larger 126" with the thicker wing for float and 3D.

I'll be doing full CF like the 126" VW Edge...

Here is a semi-lightened 126" Extra260 that was done for Jack M with DA170 on pipes at 37.5lbs!!...

Definitely subscribed.. How could anyone not enjoy a build thread with the art of gluing wood together. Add some Hysol and carbon fiber and monokote fumes to it also !!!!!
