I wonder it your can do spins like a jet ski with that. Throttle lag might be an issue though.

Get going at a good forward speed. Chop the throttle to idle. Crank the steering all the way right or left. Blip the throttle and spins you around faster that you can bat an eyelid.

hey trevor. would a little flex in the vectoring linkages be good to take some of the load off the servos or is stiff the better way to go?

I am very anxious to video this one!!!!!

BTW, in regards to linear mixing with the throttle. It may not be such a good idea unless you have it on a switch to turn on/off the mixing. Think about a situation where you are down low and want the extra thrust at that extreme angle. Suddenly as you increase throttle for extra thrust, your thrust angle is unexpectedly reduced. My guess is that it would make the jet very hard to control! Just my 2 cents!

Re: CompARF New Rookie 3D / JetCentral Cheetah

Off on business today . But before leaving, I got the pair of rudders rigged up Servos are BLS252's (a bit overkill, but oh well). The horns were Hysol'd into the rudders last night.

Lots of throw, however the instructions and some comments on the forums say that the rudders aren't very effective anyways, LOL. Kinda scares me a bit, since rudder is one of the most important surfaces for the 3D prop planes The guess the key to this one is the thrust vectoring vs the rudder. Time will tell.

When I'm back on the weekend, next step will be the canards

Re: CompARF New Rookie 3D / JetCentral Cheetah

I got a pair of medium-sized airtanks in the nose (should be more than enough considering there's no gear doors, etc).

Also got the canards installed, Hitec 7954 and linkage with CF sleeve. The instructions call for 150oz-in servo but went 400oz-in to be safe

Tomorrow night I can get the nose gear and steering servo installed

Re: CompARF New Rookie 3D / JetCentral Cheetah

Trev not to worry about the rudders as you said they are not too effective but in 3d mode it's all about the trust vectoring no worries it will hold, FLIP, ROLL,FLOP, any were you point the nozzle with authourity .
