Vectron Repairs

Read a couple threads about the vectron from last december. Trying to beat the winter blues but have a question. Is it repairable? Has anyone had to buy new parts for one or are you out of luck if it breaks?

It's darn hard to break but would be relatively easy to fix. Just some plastic parts and foam. Not sure what'll happen when some electronics fail for it's worked for me so far this year

Guess my concern is the wires. I just got mine yesterday and there was a while it wouldn't keep going and would flash 2 lights which means the cord or plug in according to the manual. I put it away, read the manual, and tried it again and it seemed fine. May have been that the cord wasn't plugged in all the way. But, it got me thinking, what if this cord breaks? is it replaceable?

I found out three things causing the same problem.

1. The IR was not directed at the unit.
2. The TV remove was playing havoc on the signal (sat on remote)
3. Unplugged and replugged

After reading the instructions on these (afterwards of course ) it's worked fine since. I would imagine you could order replacement parts; hadn't thought about it in all honesty

After lots of use mine ran out of power so I cut the landing legs off it and tossed the foam ring.....sure it hurts to get hit but it flew good So I guess a broke it...to repair it

Smart....no, fun..yes. Really though, when yours breaks or wears out just get a new one...unless you can fix it by replacing q pinion or gluing the foam ring etc..

If your looking for something to play with in the house for the winter, you mite want to have a look at this little thing. From what I have been reading about this little thing, it suppose to work great. It works just like the real RC heli and is very durable and very stable. I seen a video of it flying on another forum and it look pretty good. I have a Vectron and it can be fun, but I think this thing would be a lot more fun (it has no cord). It's a little more money, but I'm sure it would be a lot more fun.

P.S
I found the video, you can see it here. http://interactivetoy.com/helicopters.htm

that does look like fun. I got my vectron for $50 used twice so I'll get bored of it first.

Anyway, I think my initial problem was just a loose connection cause it hasn't done it since.

thanks,

I just checked out radioshack's site for that bladerunner. The sell the vectron under another name and have a link for parts. You can replace motors, propellers and ac adaptors. i imagine great hobbies can get them. No mention of cords though.
