Gear door operation

Hi Guys.

I am looking for a gear sequencer that will do the following operation.

Doors open - gear out - doors close.

Doors open - gear in - doors close.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this Jomar unit or is there a better unit out there?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCJE1

Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Gear door operation

I had a look at the link you put there, and if that little gadget does what it claims for $35.00 it would be wort every penny (I think anyway)

Re: Gear door operation

I have one here For sale if you want it $20 + shipping.

I tried it on my Corsair and it was a bitch to set up the doors. I ended up just taking the doors off

Re: Gear door operation

"FORGET IT" I have worked on several real A/C with sequential doors and they are a real pain in the butt. The Tutor has 21 micro switches in the U/C system. The hydraulic systems are very complicated. As you know the more components you have in a system the more chances of failure.

Hi Mike,

Sorry to hear that you had problems setting up your gear doors. I may be interested in purchasing your unit and give it a shot.

Can you please elaborate on the problems that you had?

Pete.

Re: Gear door operation

The problem I had was trying to get the doors to sequence properly. I had one servo for each set of doors and I couldn't get the mechanism set up properly for there operation. The problem wasn't the Jomar unit it was just trying to get all the geometry right in the mechanics.for door operation.

I ended leaving the doors off.

Here are pics of my corsair. http://msebastien.albumpost.com/Corsair

Re: Gear door operation

If you are using an air system, Ultra Precision makes a nice adjustable unit....
