Website Suggestions

I love the new website. On the whole I find it much better functionally and aesthetically than the old version.

Now that we've all had a lot of time to settle into the new format, I was thinking that we could all offer up some suggestions, and either support or oppose other people's suggestions for improvements to the site.

This is not the place for rants, this is for constructive criticism and open discussion only. Take your rants elsewhere!

Here are my suggestions (you knew I had a reason for this post, right?):

1) Take out the minimum number of characters in a post.
Examples of posts less than 10 characters:
Sweet!

PM Sent
LOL
U SUCK! *kidding*

2) Take out the minimum number of characters per word in a search query.
Examples of valid, but currently disallowed searches (words under 3 characters):
OS Engine
CA glue
Blade CX
Axe CP
FP Heli
Channel 35 crystal

Okay, those are my suggestions and reasons. What have you got to say?

Cheers,
Ben

Re: Website Suggestions

Here's my $.02; trader feedback returned to the system in the old site. Otherwise, it's great!

I totally agree with this one. Numerous times a thread I agree with needed a thumbs up or other short word but as you say its disallowed

Re: Website Suggestions

Keep them coming guys!

Roscoe, do you mean removing the requirement for a link to a thread?

Yes, that is what I meant. I've had no joy with a couple of transactions where the "link" thing would not work, so no well-deserved feedback for good folks.

Re: Website Suggestions

I'll go for that - now that I've found out how to post feedback, I still never know what the ID of the post is and wind up with just a meaningless truncated ID!
As far as 10 characters is concerned, I just end with periods until it says 'enough'!! (Hi, Ben!)

Re: Website Suggestions

this is to validate that the feedback is not just made up I could just pick someone and give them negative feedback otherwise. To get the link, go to the post and in the top address bar of your browser copy the link then paste it in the field for it in the feedback don't worry your computer remembers the last thing you copied

Rob
