Peaceful Sloping

Had a long day yesterday here, so decided to take a run up to the old sloping site
and check it out. Made it right at sunset with the cam in hand . Should have been about
5 minutes earlier. Sunset time 10:42 pm on the Mighty Peace River facing due west
and northwest.

Re: Peaceful Sloping

great photo ! I can see why they call it the peace river ..
The only "hill" around here is the pile at the dump ..

Re: Peaceful Sloping

Yes, great photo.
What did you fly that night, I am seriously jealous.

Now what is wrong with nice Garbage hill!! That is all I have close to Sloping in Toronto, save the bluffs or couple of even smaller lumps.

Re gliding off of garbage heaps - in my area it was called 'Mount Trashmore'!

Re: Peaceful Sloping

Ohhh, I was not flying off the hill that evening. I just went up to check out the winds and landing approach. There are barbeques and picnic tables beside the launch, and then a mowed landing spot beside the tables !

The last bird that I flew here was the Airtronics Aquila 100 inch class. Trying to finish an
old Dynaflite Wanderer 99 here. Kinda busy....one week the forest is on fire and the next
next week everything is flooding. Forecast was 50 mm rain tonite !

Re: Peaceful Sloping

Mervin, I don't think I will make the funfly since I probably won't go thru until after
Sunday. Will probably still be in Sask slope soaring.

Isn't that an oxymoron? Like military intelligence or honest politician?

Just kidding Brent! There are some nice hills down your way! Sorry couldn't resist that one!
