So i just got one of these. I'm hoping some of you that have one of these cars will post pics showing how you set up the electronics. Also any tips about the car would be nice. I've already ordered the adjustable front upright/kingpin (?), and the carbon shock mount and rear wing mount\brace.

Re: F104 V2 Pro

I set mine up with a shorty pack with the weight more central.

Don't have too much track time to test out forward or rearward positions. But I will say the car works great as is now.

Someone suggested to me a softer setup as a good base. Softest springs on side links and shock. Medium golds up front. Again works very well.

Pit Shimizu's are the tires of choice. Medium compound up front, soft in the rears.

Re: F104 V2 Pro

I'm gathering that the back upper exotek A arm is used to adjust trail? After seeing your pics I went to their site. What is your oppion on the IFS system they have? Do you think it would provide more and better travel?

Re: F104 V2 Pro

That back upper adjustable arm is used to adjust the ackerman.

I'm not 100% sold on the Exotek arms to tell you the truth. The front end has a bit more slop in it now than the standard Tamiya setup. Granted more tuneability. It's also definitely not as strong as the Tamiya. The Exotek ball cup plastic is much more brittle.

Hmm...That IFS system looks new. Don't recall seeing that before. In any case the description sounds like it's a must have, lol.

Studying the pics I do think it will make a slight difference in the car's steering due to the extended suspension travel. Not too much mind you. If the F1 chassis was rigid it would make a world of difference. It's still a two piece chassis with a decent amount of side to side flex. That controllable flex almost negates the need for further front suspension travel than what we currently have. Would certainly be interesting to test out though.

Also looks like this may come in handy on a bumpy track when needing a higher ride height.

Re: F104 V2 Pro

I thought going to the low profile servo like you did gets rid of the ackerman? It's all kinda new to me so I sometimes get the names incorrect.

Re: F104 V2 Pro

Apologies, I meant caster adjustment on the Exotek upper back arm.

You can still adjust ackerman somewhat with the low profile servo setup. You can achieve changes with a larger or smaller servo saver. Or moving the servo itself slightly forward or backward to suit.
