Ziroli Stuka Build

Rob,
Thanks again for the kind words.

Jabba,
So you finally started your Stuka Build. do you have any pictures yet? How far along are you.
I've installed it for firewall fitting and a cowl fit check only. I have to reinstall for now to mount the cowl and servos.

Have you decided on an engine?

Here's a glory shot of the Stuka with the spats.

Well I got most of the fus framed up.

Working on installing F1 and the Mm1's.

My question is both Mm1's are the same length... is there any right thrust built in?

I'm going to us the same engine as you... that is why I asked the question about mounting the engine.

From the doc's put out about the Revolution 50 you need 10 1/2 inches from the prop washer to the firewall. So I will be cutting Mm1's back. Like you did.

Pictures I will post one tomorrow.

got another question for you.

I've noticed that you have taken out the formers in the cockpit area, so you will be able to install in scale cockpit.

When did you do that?

Plus did you mount your servo in the cockpit area (under) the floor?

thanks

Ziroli Stuka Build

Jaba,
I didn't build in any right thrust but it is mentioned on the plan. I prefered to make up a shim to get the right thrust. I'll measure the engine from prop hub to firewall tomorrow and let you know what I got.

I removed the former material to install a cockpit but I haven't built it up yet. Once I get the cowl mounted and detailed I'll work that up. And yes the servos will be mounted under the floor as far forward as I could get them. 1 for each elevator half and one for the rudder. The rudder will be pull pull. There is still a bit of figuring to do to have everything concealed and what I want to do with the canopy.

You're correct each aileron and flap section has it's own servo and only 1 servo for the dive brakes. It would be lighter setting it up as shown in the plan but I like the flexibility and ease of setup this configuration provides.

Have you settled on a paint scheme yet? I've changed my mind again and decided on the Shark nosed B1.

I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your build!

Jaba,
With the mount installed the Rev 52 is 214 mm from firewall to thrustwasher, without the mount it's 161 mm.

Jaba,

That looks familure! Make sure you setup your tailwheel before you go much further or you'll be provisioning an access panel in the rear fuse. Which actually isn't that bad of an idea when you think about it.
