WHAT THE H#LL HAVE I BUILT?

So as I posted in the indoor section I have been building a center prop vpp plane. I decided to go with a crazy prototype doing things I have thought of for a design all in one. It will probably fly but I have no idea if it will fly well. I messed up a few times and had to do some "cutting and pasting" but I am now stumped on one of the least important issues.

How do I put landing gear on this thing without it looking dumber than it already does ?

Looks like a blow fish with wings?.. :P I think it does fine without the LG.. add more weight to the A/C unnecessarily.

While a full fuse depron fuse is very rigid and light it is also delicate. Belly landings are not an option, and while I don't put gear on my shocky fuse planes as I can grab them out of a hover, I don't have much faith I will be able to do the same thing with this one.

re:landing gear

Or how about a couple of pectoral fins angled out from the fuse just in front of the wing - don't need wheels, they can act as skids

Oh, by the way we finally have a venue to fly indoors in Saskatoon for the balance of the winter. One of the hotels has a golf dome adjacent to it and our club has been able to get in Sunday nights at a reasonable rate. Finally

who

who needs landing gear,u only need it if u know how to land otherwise u just fly till u run outta fuel, then u wont need to worry about landing gear as it will find the ground all on its own!

well I tried it unpainted outside in the rain. First off my landing gear is to short so I did not have a correct angle of attack and almost crashed it on the ground . I tried on the driveway with idle up and almost crashed it into my truck cause I got freaked and throttled down . Full down throttle in idle up 1 is full negative pitch full throttle.

This thing looks ridiculous in the air but seemed to fly well from the short 2 minute flight I had. Again this plane is crazy weird looking and gonna freak out the old boys

I am going hard on the sim with vpp planes tonight!!!!!!!

Finished plane after the kids had their way. The setup is as a 1 servo (JR) helicopter with normal mode as 95% constant forward pitch and a linear throttle. Idle up 1 has full neg/ pos pitch at the stick ends. Throttle on idle 1 is 45% center with the pitch going up as a curve to 90% at stick ends. Idle up2 is 60% center with a linear curve to 97% on stick ends.

It will be a shame that I will undoubtly crash this one before getting a good pith/throttle curve setup

My 9303 has some neat heli programing but I either cannot find or did not get the heli manual as I bought the plane version.

Kinda polka dot for you Mike
