Your Prop Choices

Hi all.

Just wondering what the usual choice is for a prop on the bigger 4 strokes. I haven't run the Saito 150 yet, I'm looking for a good starting point. While I'm at it, let's make it a poll. Throw me the first few choices and I'll adjust the poll options.

Note that I use quality (XP) 15% nitro, 20% oil in all my engines. I don't bother with 4 cycle fuel.

Thanks.

Props 'n Fuel

Claude,

I'm for large diameter, low pitch when it comes to props, so my vote is for the 18x6 if your 150 will swing it? As for fuel, I know it's a bit of an inconvienience to pack two types, but the XP 4c 100% synthetic will "wake up" that Saito a bit and what I do is add 3oz. of castor for the benifits their to give a 20% oil content.

I'm also a fan of the larger diameter low pitch.
As for a favourite size... whatever she'll swing that does a good job with the aircraft it's in. I know that's not much of an answer but, I've flown the same engine in several planes and try several props before settling into what feels best.

Fuel? Wildcat 15% nitro with 18% synthetic.
As a good friend is fond of saying, it's penicillin for engines.

Depends?

I would like to hear what type/size/weight model you will be installing the engine in as this will greatly effect prop choice as well?
Generally higher pitch lower diameter for pattern/aerobatics etc. and finer pitch larger diameter for scale flying...
