Hello,

I have a new plane that come equipped with this motor mounted upside down. This type of mounting puts the carb below the fuel tank. I am assuming since it looks well used that it ran many times in this setup. So today I put some Omega 15% four stroke fuel in it and fired it up. It idled okay but when I took the Glow off it, it died. So I changed the plug to a brand new A5 (expensive plug) and fired it up again. Again it stalled right away. It also appears that the when the motor is not running it has a siphoning affect. Fuel dripping from the muffler. This is my first four stroke and am not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like the bottom end is rich. Try leaning the low end a bit (1/4 turn in) and start it up again. Keep trying this until it idles nice.

Install an OS "F" Plug (even more expensive plug - but they do work in 4 - stroke engines)!

Inverted FS can be bad news from the get go, there are several problems,the main one being the chance of breaking a cfrankshaft , fuel and oil can pool in the cylinder and if you hit it with a starter you have hydraulic lock and something has to give, try turning the plane upside down and start the engine and run it until it clears itself and then go right side up and ee if it keeps going, I see flyers out here are using onboard glo drivers to keep the inverted 4 strokes running at idle good luck Mike
