My Kadet Senior was sitting on my bench for 3 years and never been ran...
well guess what??? it started on second attempt and it ran like a new one.
got to love those GMS engines.

Same with an old OS 40 i have in a Magic hanging off my basement ceiling for the past two years.fired right up and ticks like a swiss watch

Yep, if you properly "Pickle" the engine time doesn't seem to do any harm. I have a Fox 50BB in a Seamaster that sat for 20+ years and fired up first try, (after I blew out the carb).

Exactly. Same here. The most important thing an engine owner can do to prolong the life of their motor is to properly put it away at the end of each day's flying. You never know when the last flight of the day will be the last flight of the week, month or years (in my case )
So at the end of each days flying it is always best to run the motor dry, and then use after run oil if it sits in the house for more than a week. I have some engines I haven't touched in 3+ years but I know they will run fine next time I pull that plane out.

In my opinion this is why engines are so much more fun than motors. Character, noise, smell, good vibrations......need I go on?
